A well thought out Master Plan was key to the vision of First Presbyterian Church of Hastings as they developed a new, 36 acre site for their growing congregation. The process allowed for an assessment for future development as consideration was given to both current needs and anticipated growth.
The first phase and core of the 38,463 square foot complex houses a sanctuary for seating 350 people. This space is expandable to provide additional seating for 700 and also allows for a future chapel. The fellowship hall / gymnasium holds 240 occupants and is expandable to 420. Other areas of the building include a commercial kitchen, 6 administrative offices, a Noah's Ark Pre-School for 72 children, adult and youth Christian Education spaces with four large divisible classrooms.
The Master Plan provides for future development for Christian education, fellowship, youth and ministries as well as a retreat center. Consideration has been given to site development for an outdoor chapel, picnic pavilion, maintenance building, restrooms and amphitheater.
