WTA Architects provided architectural design and construction administration services for the 29,000 square foot expansion at Zehnder's Splash Village Hotel & Waterpark that includes a retractable roof, outdoor pool, two six-story thrill rides, family cabanas and more. The original hotel and water park consisted of a 20,000 square foot water park with 146 guest rooms and deluxe suites. In addition to the new Atrium Waterpark, the October 2014 expansion project offers 32 new guestrooms, 22 of which offer panoramic views of the water park.
Features of the expansion include a 20-person hot tub, a six-story Tantrum Twist family raft ride; a six-story Super Loop Speed Slide; zero-entry activity pool with water geysers, water basketball and volleyball, an Action River and various fun family aquatic activities. The 12 foot by 12 foot private poolside cabanas are designed to accommodate up to ten guests with each cabana providing amenities such as a mini refrigerator, safe, house phone, towels, flat screen TV, and personalized food and beverage service. Guests can also choose to dine in the new 75-seat Mushroom Grille.
The expansion project also doubled the number of water park locker rooms and expanded the indoor arcade to offer 45 fun games.
