PROJECT INFORMATION

Renovations were done to the underutilized 3 West wing of the McLaren Bay Region main campus. An inpatient, Geriatric Psychiatry Unit was designed to meet the needs of patients over the age of 65 with mental health disorders.

​

The new program provides short term psychiatric care in a safe, efficient and compassionate manner.

​

The new space consists of:

• 7 Double-Occupancy Rooms

• 9 Single-Occupancy Rooms

• A Bariatric Room with Accessible Toilet and Shower Room

• Nurse Station

• Physician Office

• Staff Lounge

• Examination and Treatment Rooms

• Activity Room

• Kitchenette

• Laundry and Storage Rooms

• Group Therapy & Quiet Activity Room

• Seclusion Room
