Project Description
WTA worked with Birch Run Township to design the concept designs and schematic designs that would be used to successfully request a millage to pay for the new fire hall at 11235 Dixie Highway south of Canada Road. Fire Chief David Matzke proposed the $1.75 million millage to fund the construction of the new fire station. WTA designed the concepts for the PEMB fire station facility for the new location. The project included an 8,000 s.f., five-bay, pull-through engine storage, radio room, 800 s.f. equipment mezzanine, turn-out gear, storage and decontamination areas, offices, day-use areas, sleeping quarters, and a large training room space. Conceptual designs also included options for future expansion. When completed, the new build construction replaced a 46-year-old station on Main Street.
