Lake Erie Metroparks “Big Wave” Wave Pool RenovationOriginally constructed in the early 1980s, the “Big Wave” wave pool has long been a staple amenity for the Lake Erie Metroparks community.Over time, the pool’s concrete structure and marcite finishes had significantly deteriorated. Additionally, the aging mechanical systems and pool filtration equipment were in need of full replacement to meet modern standards.Our renovation project included the installation of a new Myrtha PVC lining system supported by a steel trellis structure. The scope of work also encompassed the replacement of the entire concrete deck, the addition of new artificial turf, and the installation of lifeguard deck equipment and updated handrails. This revitalization ensures continued safe, efficient, and enjoyable operation of the wave pool for years to come.
