Project Description
Restoration:
• House Chambers
• House Offices
• Rotunda Interior
• Upper Corridors
• Interior Fire Escapes
• Public Toilet Rooms
As Implementing Architect for the above projects, the firm was responsible for all design, documentation and oversight. The restoration work focused on returning the Capitol to its original grandeur while meeting modern day functional needs and code requirements.
The restoration integrated technology for computer networking, telephones, voting systems, television connections for telecasting functions in the Chamber and Appropriations Room and systems for multi- media presentations.
Modern codes were addressed to provide adequate plumbing, Life Safety provisions and barrier free access. Air conditioning was discretely integrated into the historic architecture.
