Peace Lutheran School - Early Childhood Center Addition

Saginaw, MI, USA

Project Description

In the spring of 2019 WTA completed an addition to the main Lawndale K-8 campus that WTA designed in 2003.

The new child care center consists of separate rooms for infants, toddlers, preschool, and pre-K children. Self-contained toilet rooms were included in

all with the exception of the infant room. A separate room was included for 3-4 year old children who needed care for the extent of their day prior to or following their class time.

An independent entrance, separate from the main school entrance, was designed to provide easy access for parents with young children as well as

to help identify the Early Childhood Center area.

There are offices for the child care director, family-life pastor, and administration area, including a reception space with a waiting area, a work room, storage, and health room.

A gross motor skills room was included as well as a playground area for outside stimulated play. The project was completed while the main school was in use.
