Project Description
The Port Austin Four Seasons Pavilion is a new development designed to create a year-round town center that serves the community in all seasons. Replacing the former gymnasium, the open-air pavilion will host the farmers market during the summer months, becoming a central gathering spot for residents and visitors. In the winter, the pavilion will transform into an outdoor ice rink, providing a space for recreation and winter activities.
The design of the pavilion honors the history of the old gymnasium by incorporating salvaged stone into the new structure, while also combining elements from surrounding structures in Port Austin, such as the Port Austin Visitor Center and the Veterans Waterfront Park Pavilion. The pavilion sub-structure will feature an in-house Zamboni, locker rooms for skate changing, restrooms, and a multi-purpose event space, making it a versatile venue for various events and activities throughout the year.
The Port Austin Four Seasons Pavilion will become a key community hub, offering a functional space that adapts to the needs of the town across all seasons.
