Project Description
WTA ARCHITECTS had the privilege of working with the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College on the renovation of their newly-acquired educational facility. The College’s vision was to transform the building into a space that not only met the requirements for social distancing amidst the Covid pandemic but also celebrated their culture and heritage.
The three-story building features a striking center atrium, which served as the focal point of the design. As part of our comprehensive approach, we reviewed the inspection reports. These reports guided us in addressing any underlying issues and ensuring the building’s safety and functionality.
Our design team embraced the cultural significance of the project, carefully incorporating elements that honored the traditions and values of the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe. We worked closely with the college’s stakeholders to understand their vision, needs, and aspirations. This collaboration enabled us to create culturally-inspired spaces that fostered a sense of community, learning, and pride. The renovated building now stands as a symbol of the College’s commitment to education and community.
