West Tower 5C Nursing Unit Renovation

The primary objective of this project was to renovate an existing nursing unit to provide each patient room with a dedicated toilet room equipped with a sink and shower. The scope also included the addition of two barrier-free patient rooms, each with accessible toilet facilities, as well as the creation of an isolation room. In addition, support spaces were upgraded, and mechanical and electrical systems were modernized to meet current standards.

Overall, the project significantly enhanced the patient experience by improving access to toilet rooms, including sinks and showers, and by incorporating barrier-free accommodations. These upgrades promote better hygiene practices and increased comfort for patients.

From an operational perspective, staff workflow was improved through more convenient access of patient shower rooms, allowing for more efficient care delivery. Infection control measures were strengthened with the inclusion of dedicated patient and staff sinks, and upgraded support spaces were tailored to better meet staff needs and specifications.
