Western High School

Bay City, MI, USA

Project Description

Completion Date: 2020 bond work and 2018 Sinking Fund Work is ongoing

Cost: $28.425 Million

WTA has continually worked with BCPS over many years as they upgraded, reroofed, and completed miscellaneous projects funded through bond and sinking fund monies, and ESSR and MSP security grants.

A most recent project is a new gymnasium addition to Western Jr-Sr High School. This 2021 project included a new gymnasium addition for Bay City Western High School with associated auxiliary spaces and sitework. The new gym provides needed flexibility, allowing the middle school students to engage in phys. ed. and athletics on their own, apart from the high school students. The 10,400 square foot addition was designed to be aesthetically sympathetic to the original school building and includes a longitudinal main court with maple flooring system marked for both volleyball and basketball, and dual side courts for physical education and practice. Changing rooms, bathrooms, office and storage spaces were included as well as a dedicated parking lot and sidewalks to serve the new gym.
