Michigan State Capitol
Client | State of Michigan
Serving as the Implementation Architect for restoration of the Michigan State Capitol, our architectural staff provided designs for the House Chamber, House Offices, Upper Corridors, Rotunda, Interior Fire Escapes, and Public Toilet Rooms.
The restoration included returning the Capitol to its original grandeur while meeting modern day functional needs and code requirements. The restoration integrated technology for computer networking, telephones, voting systems, television connections for telecasting functions in the Chamber and Appropriations Room, and systems for multi-media presentations.
Modern codes were addressed to provide adequate plumbing facilities, life safety, and accessibility.
Air conditioning was also integrated discretely into the historic architecture.
