JOB TITLE: CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATOR

JOB DESCRIPTION:

WTA Architects is seeking an experienced Construction Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing construction administration support on projects in collaboration with project leadership. We will rely on you to protect design intent and the Owner's vision throughout the construction process. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, strict attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with all members of the project team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Through onsite observation, the CA keeps the owner informed as to the progress and quality of the construction work and determines that the work is being performed in a manner consistent with the contract documents.

  • Communicate with all project participants, internal staff, consultants, clients, owners, contractors, and jurisdictions in an effective and collaborative manner.

  • Establish a schedule and perform periodic visits to the project sites to review the progress and quality of the work and its compliance with the contract documents and provide written site reports for the project team.

  • Represent the firm in meetings during the construction phase and maintain an appropriate level of visibility with the owner and contractor.

  • Oversee the shop drawing and RFI processes, providing review and responses in coordination with appropriate project architects and engineers on the project.

  • Requires frequent travel to project jobsites, as required, dependent on project construction schedules.

  • Assist in Proposal Documents distribution, organize and participate in contractor selection interviews, and prepare responses and clarifications on Proposal Documents.

  • Participate in contractor negotiations as needed.

  • Manage project documentation and maintain accurate records of all project-related activities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or related curriculum.

  • At least 5 years of experience in construction.

  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software.

  • Possess a valid Driver's License along with a driving record acceptable to the Company's insurance carrier.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

WTA Architects is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, talented individual with experience in architectural design, contract documents and specifications related specifically to healthcare projects. Candidates should have a good understanding of the different diagnostic modalities, and also have knowledge of medical planning and modern healthcare delivery. Candidates should possess the experience of coordinating the work of not only architectural and engineering services but also those of equipment venders. Managing internal coordination meetings as well as client meetings and reviews with various governmental agencies for code compliance will also be the responsibility of the successful candidate.

 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A professional degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university required.

  • Architectural license in the State of Michigan preferred. If not already licensed, candidates need to have a goal of becoming registered within 3 years.

  • Experience in an architectural firm focusing on healthcare projects.

  • Proficiency in the use of the most recent versions of AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Knowledgeable in the use of SketchUP.
