PROJECT INFORMATION

This post-secondary transitional housing is the only program of its kind in the country. The concept was developed by SVRC Industries, Inc. and the Saginaw Intermediate School District to provide temporary transitional housing to post-secondary students. The free standing building provides housing for up to eight (8) developmentally and disabled students most likely to be able to live independently. While living at the facility, students receive education and training for daily living skills.

The 6,773 square foot building consists of five, 2-bedroom accessible units with a community room, activity room, and shared laundry.

Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Certified by the U.S. Green Building Council, the facility has drought tolerant landscaping, geothermal heating, cooling, and water heating. Products are regionally produced, recycled, and rapidly renewable.
